Reconciliation with Sufism re-Reoriented

A resolution of the problem of Sufism re-Reoriented is most desirable. The 1980 Bell of Warning was just such an attempt on the part of Eruch Jessawala and Mani Irani; unfortunately, it was unsuccessful.

The unresolved issues 40 years later can perhaps be summarized as the following:

1) The foundation narrative/ myth promulgated by Ivy Duce that Baba had promised a continuous lineage of illumined murshids for the next 700 years must be abandoned.

2) That SR will adhere to Baba’s injunction to maintain good boundaries with other Baba groups, i.e. not attempt to convert Baba lovers from their direct path to SR’s indirect path.

3) The necessity for a frank admission on SR’s part that the Sufi Charter presents both a great opportunity for those drawn to such a path, but that it also presents a potential spiritual tragedy unless guided by absolute honesty. Baba made it perfectly clear that he would guide SR only on the basis of absolute honesty.

The onus lies with SR to redress these issues. It can do so from the top down, or from the bottom up. Either senior leadership can institute the necessary changes, or the democratic provisions embodied in the Sufi Charter can demand the necessary changes.

The brilliant thing about the Sufi Charter is that it fully allows for the organization’s membership to demand and enforce that the organization abide by absolute honesty.
